If you have the money or was born over 50 years ago, you might as well pick up the Hermes Sac Mallette travel case. It comes in a variety of luxurious skin and colours. I have seen crocodile, calf leather, etc. it comes with a lock and key as usual and has two major compartments to store all your knick knacks~

This faux for coat is a superb bargain at 500HKD~ luxurious yet not over feminine, with fox heads on the collar and the back, it exudes luxury and screams "im rich bitch!"

Another fantabulous find is this flamenco style mermaid black lace vintage formal evening gown. at 65 USD, its one hell of a find!! too bad its a L size.... maybe i can tweak it a bit?

And another rare bite is a fairy like burgundy formal dress, guaranteed to make your heart go pitter patter~

Fur Fur Fur! what a warm luxurious indulgement...

Vintage or not, fur has always been a symbol of luxurious warth. Its can be oh so sexy, feminene and classic at the same time.
I saw this photo of a girl in a vintage fur coat on the web, which reminds me of the sartorialist. its beige- white luxurious fur streaked with a touch of contrasting black makes it considerably chic. A long dress coat of sensuos furriness....mmmmmmmmmm........ love how that feels....

haha, i was also on fashioning.com and saw a photoshoot comprising of fur coats and boots, hot and provocative, its only fair that i share~

Both Dita and her car in vintage~! What a sight!

I was checking Dita Von Teese's twitter as usual, and saw a photo she posted of herself. In the first vintage suit she ever bought, complete with her fave 40s headpiece, and posing in front of her vintage car...she looks immaculate... Totally out of this world really.....

How does she manage to always look flawless? She must have stepped out of a time machine! We mustworship her...

Vintage Hermes Ad! Priceless!

I cant believe my luck when i stumbled across an archive of vintage Hermes ads. Sophisticated, elegant, feminine and luxurious, its portrays the perfect socialite in her prime~

The perfect hat, immaculate make up and hair, lace trimmed and embroidered suit, dainty gloves and the perfect wasp waist and a neat little purse.....

Medieval, Renaissance, Victorian, Edwardian.... Extravagance...

Extravagance in all they wear, i am green with envy at those women in the olden days..... Just open your eyes and see- embellished with grosgrain ribbon, lace, floral, beading, precious stones. brocade, silk, ruffles in colours of burgundy, royal blue, pink, violet, viridian....

Why has the world suddenly toned down? why minimalism? well, minimalism is chic, but.... regal and royal beauty is part of human history and nature... With that, i guess many people do share the same passion as i do, since we can all see many faithful adaptations of the marie antoinette style gowns.

For the super rich in this contemporary world, you have couture to turn to. For romantic designers that feel the passionate beckoning of the golden eras, like Galliano for Dior and Christian Lacroix, you can relive history at its best, through the modern intepretations of these coutouriors. For the public, dont despair, as there are also lots to choose from. Replica gowns are made and sold by many costume makes and seamstresses, they play a crucial part in letting us remember and actually feel how it was for baroness and queens by wearing the same dresses they did back then.

Though they are replicas, they are still exquisite and remains quite true to history. (Not to mention affordable as well...) Feel like owning one?well, feast your eyes first~

Vintage love ~

I just love vintage hunting. I can easily spend more than 9 consecutive hours just browsing through them. I especially love vintage designer couture.

In fashion, there isa 20 year rule. It means wtever that was in vogue 20 yrs ago, will sort of repeat itself again. Thus, when i go thru the old treaures, i find some edwardian and victorian era clothes that seem very relevant and stylish even when viewed in today's context. Karl Lagerfeld did a Russian themed Chanel couture not too long ago(refer to the above vintage red caplet), and recently went for a Chinese Oriental 2010 pre fall(refer to the long Lanvin coat with Chinese knots and embellishments). See if you can feel the resemblance in the vintage photos.

But there is no denying that in the past, clothes were much more exquisite and glamorous. Look at all the intricate beading and lace patterns, they seem so fine and detailed. And god, those bold colours are amazing! I mean a vibrant purple tweed suit from vintage Pierre Cardin and a sun burnt orange Dior chiffon dress, just imagine!
