For the fashion forward alpha males out there

2010 fw season for menswear has begun and i went thru a couple of shows as well as those for 2010 ss.

My sartorial advice for men:
Do invest in a good coat and a good hand carry bag (NOT shoulder bags).
Coats sd be of a suitable length for you, which shows off your strong points and hides your weak points, not the other way around! sounds easy huh?i wonder why many cant do it well...

I love embossed animal prints on clothes and bags, especially reptile prints. I dont really like the loudness of animal prints though, so i always opt for a faint version of it to tone it down~ all the while being versatile~ Go Gucci~! this time, Gucci showcased a brilliant spectrum of blue, never was the colour more brilliant and vibrant! and the embossed croc print bag is stunning~! an inspiration from yves saint laurent perhaps? wtever it is, its working!~

Leather coats with big wool collars are a personal favourite for me, in menswear and womenswear~ glad that Burberry is doing a delightful version of it this coming fall~!
Also, his military trench coat in navy, paired with two rows of golden bottons exude extreme chicness~!

Giorgio Armani, is always flawless, classic and timeless. Always the right amount of cuff shown, perfect proportioan and trouser length, the immaculate tailoring..... dare to wear it and become and Armani man? Always effortlessly cool..... George Clooney, anyone?

Lanvin, has the best sculpted and draped coat, at least in my opinion, feminine and masculine at the same time, it is anything but dull and ordinary.

Vintage love ~

I just love vintage hunting. I can easily spend more than 9 consecutive hours just browsing through them. I especially love vintage designer couture.

In fashion, there isa 20 year rule. It means wtever that was in vogue 20 yrs ago, will sort of repeat itself again. Thus, when i go thru the old treaures, i find some edwardian and victorian era clothes that seem very relevant and stylish even when viewed in today's context. Karl Lagerfeld did a Russian themed Chanel couture not too long ago(refer to the above vintage red caplet), and recently went for a Chinese Oriental 2010 pre fall(refer to the long Lanvin coat with Chinese knots and embellishments). See if you can feel the resemblance in the vintage photos.

But there is no denying that in the past, clothes were much more exquisite and glamorous. Look at all the intricate beading and lace patterns, they seem so fine and detailed. And god, those bold colours are amazing! I mean a vibrant purple tweed suit from vintage Pierre Cardin and a sun burnt orange Dior chiffon dress, just imagine!

Enough talking, just get mesmerized... ...
